You play black and always move first. Flank enemy discs to flip them — most discs when the board is full wins. Choose how strong the computer should be.

How To Play Reversi

Players take turns placing a disc that flanks one or more enemy discs — trapping them in a straight line (any direction) between your new disc and one of your existing discs. All flanked discs flip to your colour. Highlighted squares show your legal moves.

If you have no legal move you pass automatically. When neither player can move, the board is counted and the most discs wins.

Tips

Corners can never be flipped — they're gold. Avoid the squares right next to a corner until the corner is settled, and early on fewer discs is often better than more: what counts is the final position, not the running score.
